Natalya is a stubborn, smart-mouthed junior at Flatbrook High School. Not fond of her name, she prefers her nickname "Nat" to her full name.

Natalya is fiercely loyal but can also be over-aggressive, often acting like she has something to prove. Her pride has led her to being somewhat of an outcast in school. She's over-protective of her best friend Marcus Weikes, who is often bullied.

Natalya has a strained relationship with her parents, who want her to dress and act more maturely. They frequently compare her to her older brother, who is working on a medical degree, which frustrates her to no end. She's become more and more rebellious as her parents continue to push her toward following in his footsteps. Her growing attitude problem has caught the attention of Mark's parents, who are not fond of her.
