[Kain Firestorm is a character in the Blitz Phoenix anime.]

Kain is the most stubborn and self-centered of the Chosen. A loner and not used to suddenly having to rely on others, he is rude and often tries to handle dangerous situations himself. He resents that Takeo was appointed leader of the Chosen; Kain not-so-secretly wants to lead the group himself and often butts heads with Takeo over what they should do next. His ego eventually leads him to betray the Chosen and join the Dark Army, who are trying to destroy the world.

Kain's Ancient Beast form is the Flare Qilin. His Flare Beast Soul gives him incredible destructive power, allowing him to spread blazing blue fire that cannot be extinguished - it burns until it runs out of fuel, and can burn almost anything. After a long battle against Takeo Blitz, Kain eventually realizes the error of his ways and rejoins the Chosen with renewed vigor for their cause. After reuniting with who he now knows are his real friends, they are able to push back the Dark Army once and for all.

... Until the Dark Army is reinstated and returns stronger than ever, but that doesn't happen until season four.
