David is a caring father who, over the last fifteen years, has become increasingly paranoid. He once was an owner of a lawncare business, but sold it once he made the decision to rapidly move around the country. Since then, he's been taking minimum-wage jobs where he can quickly jump from one to the next, as well as a few higher paying jobs that allowed him to transfer to other states. At one point, he decided that he could be tracked by staying within a company, so he decided to stick with the lower-end job jumping.

David is a kind individual who mostly keeps to himself. He enjoys reading, watching TV, solving puzzles, and yard work.

While most people own cell phones, David's paranoia has led to him believing anything with a GPS feature is dangerous. Thus, neither he nor Terry own a cell phone (much to Terry's frustration).
