One of the more introverted scientists at Amanda's lab, Valerie specializes in information technology. She's the head of the computer science department and personally in charge of maintaining the MP4-AI, a crux for the Marionette Project.

Val is very quiet and normally keeps to herself, but can be noisy when she needs to be. She gets along well with those in her department and with the other department heads... except for Amanda. For some reason, Amanda seems to have a vendetta against Val, and will take every opportunity to humiliate and even threaten her. While Valerie won't admit it, she's terrified of Amanda.

To some, it's a mystery how she ever became the head of her department, due to both her shy demeanor and her poor relationship with Amanda. But her technical knowledge far outshines her peers, and her odd (perhaps misplaced) loyalty to Amanda and the Marionette Project has earned her some favor.
